Energy is essential to human flourishing, and hydrocarbons have the unrivaled ability to generate low-cost, reliable energy to billions. Therefore, I believe we have a moral obligation to continue exploring for new hydrocarbon resources. I highly recommend the book Fossil Future by Alex Epstein.

I'm a huge science nerd and interested in everything from astronomy to botany to computer science. I love history almost as much, which is why I really fell in love with geology - I'm most fascinated by the history of the Earth. I spend most of my "free time" with my three kids (lots of sports and Scouting). I've also been heavily involved with nonprofit groups focused on childhood cancer, like St. Jude and Live Like Luke of Texas, since my son became a cancer survivor when he was 2 years old.
